Community of practice

The Alliance’s programming is based on a model of reciprocal mentorship. Learning together provides pathways to sustainability, quality and growth. We organize a community of practice who share knowledge, best practices and materials. Practitioners meet quarterly for training and support.

Basecamp

Leaders in health care organizations, public health and school districts working with MN SBHCs and/or new school-based health initiatives with the shared intention of transforming health and education equity for students and communities have access to a shared platform that provides resources and a place for engagement around common struggles, assets, and solutions.

learn and share

Specific speakers from community clinic healthcare and public health areas share at our quarterly webinars. Topics are selected by members of the Community of Practice. The expert speakers offer informed strategies and foster dialogue on topics that support the school health workforce, school health delivery, and student equity.

technical Assistance

We provide technical assistance or students, schools, School-Based Health Centers, and sponsoring healthcare organizations. We collect uniform data across SBCHs to measure our success at increasing health and education equity.

Evaluation

We work with public health advisors from the Department of Health and University of Minnesota to collect unified measures of services and outcomes provided across Minnesota’s School-Based Health Centers.

Advocacy

We provide advocacy for students, schools, School-Based Health Centers and sponsoring healthcare organizations.
